my mom has always showed an interest in what i like, my dad too but it depends on what it is? like mom watched friendship is magic with me a lot and she even has a favourite pony (rarity), and will ask where i am in a videogame and ask about the plot and characters? and when i was little my dad collected pokemon cards with me, pokemon was our thing uwu

sooometimes it gets a little embarrassing, but when i get right down to it im downright grateful to have parents like that

my parents look at me funny whenever mlp is brought up in the house and they tried to tease me about watching it but since i’m not bothered by it they gave up

i don’t even bring it up, they do, which i find hilarious

sometimes they like to ask me about things that i like, especially when it comes in close contact with what they like. except i like things that are kind of confusing to most people on the outside (eg. homestuck, lost, etc.) so whenever i try and talk to them about it, i can’t explain it properly and they just nod and say “yeah”

i don’t blame them, though. it is nice that they sometimes take interest in what i like though.
