I kind of liked King Sombra.

I mean, sure, he wasn’t that great of a villain, but we also have to remember he is literally just a corrupt unicorn and nothing more. Other than the shadow part, but Celestia did that to him. I think the problem here is that they actually had good defenses this time and were fighting a normal enemy, rather than something like the spirit of chaos or queen of the changelings.
